Welcome to the Thomson Kuramatsu Group, Inc. We are committed to providing premium private social services to individuals, families, groups, or organizations. We specialize in work with individuals and families with severe and persistent mental illnesses, such as Polysubstance Dependence, Schizophrenia, Schizoaffective Disorder, Major Depressive Disorder with Psychotic Features, Bipolar Disorders, Pervasive Developmental Disorders, Severe Cognitive Disorders, and Acute Anxiety Disorders. We provide an array of private social services, such as community assessment and intervention, resource procurement, intensive case management, psychotherapy, psychoanalysis, clinical and organizational consultation, system of care development and oversight for individuals, families, communities, or organizations. We provide concierge care utilizing a client centered approach where we work extremely hard to satisfy the individual, family, or organization needs and concerns as they arise in the treatment process.

We have a special interest in working with families and couples, especially where one or both suffer from severe mental illness. Our team is on staff at several local inpatient and outpatient mental health facilities, and help facilitate hospital admissions in a sensitive and professional manner. We offer individual and family community interventions as needed. We also help professionals coping with workplace stress.

Our treatment focuses on working collaboratively with patients to help them develop communication skills and greater awareness of their actions and decisions within family and work relationships. With new skills and awareness, patients become more organized and empowered, especially when they encounter adversity in their relationships and work life.

We have a reputation for helping patients achieve results in situations and circumstances in which no one believed solutions were possible. We incorporate recovery model and person-in-environment approach to treat the entire family system. We also provide psychoanalysis and have treated many individuals with severe trauma histories. Dr. Christopher M. Thomson has developed and implemented his own psychosocial rehabilitation therapy for dually diagnosed individuals and families with severe and persistent mental illness by integrating multiple clinical treatment components and modalities from many disciplines into what he calls, “Clinically Individualized Person in Environment Therapy sm (CIPET) sm.” This includes, but is not limited to, a person-in-environment functional assessment, along with the following: social integration, role restoration, social functioning, and establishing a meaningful relationship within a family system as well as the community.
